| The
Montgomery College Amphitheater provides a unique space
on campus for all members of the campus community.
Visitors, students, faculty, and staff are able to enojy
the garden every day, and throughout the seasons. In addition to providing a facility for special events, the Amphitheater is well used on a daily basis. The space serves as a convenient meeting place for students, an outdoor retreat between classes, a picnic area at lunchtime, a place for holding class outdoors when the weather alows,a pleasant garden view from the adjoining wood deck overlooks, and an enjoyable walk for anyone entering or leaving the classroom building. Slater Associates' design for the Montgomery College Amphitheater received the 2006 MD ASLA Merit Award from the Maryland and Potomac Chapters of the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects). |
