• The main focus of this project was the former Granary at Dawson Farm Park which is in the historic district of Rockville, Maryland. Working with neighborhood residents and the City of Rockville, Slater Associates designed a structure that would reflect the history of the Granary while functionally serving as a park shelter for picnics and other events.
• Slater Associates thoroughly researched the history of the Granary, using as a primary contact the Dawson sisters, who grew up on the farm.
• Working through historical records, Mr. Slater designed a "ghost building" that mimics the frame of the original structure while providing a shelter for park visitors.
