- Received a 2006 Merit Award from the Maryland
and Potomac Chapters of the MD ASLA.
- The project scope included the demolition of
the former amphitheater and the conversion of
the space into a sculpture garden with a
smaller amphitheater with seating for 110
people for special events.
- With a 12 foot difference in grade between
the upper and lower entrances, the challenge
was to insure that the space was ADA
(physically challenged) accessible on at
least one pathway.
- Improvements included pedestrian access,
retaining walls, amphitheater seating,
lighting, site furniture and plant material.
