• Project scope included programming, site selection and conceptual site planning for the 6000 sq. ft. nature center. Program elements included drop-off zone location, parking for cars and school buses, service area, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, outdoor terraced classroom, landscape buffers, location of entry drive, and entry experience sequence.
• The Nature Center achieved Certified level in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). Sustainable landscape design elements included minimal site disturbance, a cistern to capture recycled rain water for park re-use, composting toilets and use of native and drought tolerant plants.
• Project team included GWWO Architects, Century Engineering and Furlow Associates.
