• The town square in this small community on Maryland's eastern shore has remained virtually unchanged since 1877.
• In conjunction with SHA, improvements were designed to make the square accessible and comfortable to its 21 st Century patrons, while retaining its unique historical setting. Site work included the addition of street trees, brick sidewalks, period decorative lights, embossed concrete on parking areas to resemble cobbles, and crosswalks defined by special pavers.
• Recipient of 2001 Maryland Downtown Development Association Merit Award.
